What Diseases Should I Look Out For???
In medieval times there were many different kinds of diseases. Some of which we don't have today. So to start off I will mention a few of the many diseases you could find in medieval times. First off they had typhoid, typhus, cholera. Typhoid and cholera were spread by human waste which would get into the food and water supply.
Then there was Typhus which was caused by lice that was found in peoples hair. Typhus wouldn't always succeed in killing its victims but would weaken them. Then once they recovered they would be infected their whole entire lives. So they would keep spreading it to people until the victim had died. :-( (That would stink!!!!!!)

Who Do I Go To???
The people in medieval times would often go to many types of doctors. These doctors were surgeons, physicians, barbers, leeches and the healers. The wealthier people would go to physicians and surgeons who often times went to school for up to five years. The surgeon was supposed to be one step lower than the physician, they would set bones do c sections and basically anything bloody.
Then there were barbers who the poor would go to sense they didn't have enough money. The barbers did not go to school but knew some of the things physicians did. Below the barbers were leeches who were for people who were even more poor than the people who went to the barbers. Then finally there were the healers who would use magic and herbs for their patients. The healers were usually found in rural areas with far less population.

What Was the Cause?!!!!!!
Usually in medieval times people got sick by many things mainly because they were unsanitary. People didn't have running water back in medieval times so they would dump their waste in the streets, from trash to... i don't want to go there. But people would often times get trash or human waste dumped on them when they were walking.
More causes of illness in medieval times were poor diet, coarse clothing, food poisoning, cramped places, improper storage of grain, and worst of all often times animals would eat the food in the pantry and poop in it. Then people would eat the food... (shiver) Back then they thought it was an imbalance in the four fluids. Which I will get to later.
Hipo What Medicine?
That would be Hippocratic medicine. This was one of the medical practices that doctors used in medieval times. It consisted of the four humors which had originated from the Greek elements of the universe which were: fire, water, air, and earth. Each humor consisted of two of the for qualities: hot, cold, wet, and dry. The physicians thought blood was well... blood but it had a little of the other three humors in it.
All of the humors were said to be made by organs. One of the organs that made a humor was the liver. The liver was said to have made blood; which had many different humors in it. Then what I thought was weird was that they thought that blood was eaten by other parts of the body. So instead of circulating it was always created new every single time.
